IT Network and Telephony Manager

Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire

Salary: Negotiable (depending upon experience)

 

Job Purpose

Be the Subject Matter Expert for Network and Telephony Infrastructure through the management, configuration and optimisation of IT services in this area, including day to day management of the Group Network and Telephony team

Job Scope and Dimensions

  • Reports to Group IT Infrastructure & Operations Director
  • Technical management of Network, Telephony Infrastructure and Operating Systems
  • Line Management of the Networks and Telephony Team
  • Part of the Service Design team in Group IT
  • Member of the change board
  • Responsible for budgetary management of Network and Telephony cost centre

Principle Accountabilities

  • Ownership of the network and IP telephony, within the group IT infrastructure team
  • Point of escalation for all network and telephony technical incidents and problems
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical designs; ensuring availability, capacity and resiliency requirements are met
  • Development, testing and maintenance of the LAN, WAN and IPT infrastructure including configuration, documentation and reporting
  • Knowledge and selection of MPLS, DIA, ADSL and SDSL circuits to best meet the business requirements
  • Selection and management of supplier contracts and performance, including reporting against agreed SLAs & OLAs
  • Liaise with appropriate IT functions in order to develop the network and telephony to support all current and future projects
  • Take ownership of network and telephony changes in line with business requirements and best practice, integrating performance enhancements and security in support of all network based services such as IP Telephony
  • Ensure the network configurations are fully documented and backed up
  • Ensure network design is continuously reviewed to include future changes and developments
  • Develop and maintain a monitoring system to quickly identify issues
  • Installation and configuration of Meraki Wireless access points to group standards
  • Assist in the development of SLAs and ensure the network meets all agreed internal SLAs.
  • Undertake knowledge transfer with local and Group IT teams
  • Knowledge of setup and ongoing maintenance of DMVPN's
  • Manage and develop the Network Team to ensure it has the capability and resource to support all group requirements
  • Work with the group security manager to ensure all devices are fully patched to eliminate unexpected ingress
  • Work with the group security manager to investigate and eliminate vulnerabilities highlighted by the security operations centre
  • Develop secure performant and resilient connectivity between on-premise and cloud hosted systems
  • Undertake additional unspecified tasks as required to support Group IT and the Lavendon Group achieve its objectives

Qualifications/Experience

Required:

  • Current CCNP certification or equivalent
  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent technical experience)
  • Current in-depth knowledge and hands-on configuration of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls and IP Telephony
  • Minimum seven years technical network monitoring and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience in technical management of Cisco IP Telephony in multiple companies
  • Experience of cloud and hybrid service integration
  • At least three years developing, implementing & maintaining LAN, WAN & IPT solutions
  • Previous experience of working across multiple locations/countries

 

Desirable:

  • Network Security certification
  • Current CCVP certification or equivalent
  • VoIP certification
  • NAC and DLP using Cisco
  • Email filtering (ideally Mimecast)
  • Internet access control (ideally ForcePoint and/or Zscaler)
