Mentor Remains Confident in White’s Apprentice Chances

Viewers have seen only 25% of the potential of recruiter James White, according to his mentor, who remains confident he can follow the successes of Ricky Martin and Lee McQueen and win this year’s television reality show contest The Apprentice.

We’re a quarter of the way through the annual search for Lord Sugar’s Apprentice. To mark the occasion Recruiterspoke to Matt Collingwood, managing director of VIQU and mentor to James White, the recruiter who’s been entertaining viewers in this year’s competition.

Collingwood told Recruiter that while he doesn’t think White would secure a career as a yoga instructor – see the latest episode for more on that – he has proven himself a team player, been level-headed and represented good value for viewers.

Collingwood revealed that he had been to a screening of the first episode of this year’s series, and told RecruiterWhite was happy with the way he has come across.

He added that the show has boosted White’s social media following, with people posting positive messages about him on Twitter – whereas usually Apprentice candidates take a lot of stick on social media.

And Collingwood said he thinks White still has a “very good” chance of winning, with viewers seeing only 25% of his potential. “You’ve probably seen, with all the memes and stuff like that, he’s a quite expressive character. The guy’s a good leader, and I think that when he gets the opportunity to project manage he’ll really steer and lead a team well.”

It seems that punters agree. Entertainment website Digital Spy is reporting that White is now favourite to win the competition.
