To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2018; we have interviewed our very own apprentice Thomas. He has given an insight on what it’s really like to be an apprentice, here at Right Time Recruitment.

Tom is business administrator and he supports everyone in the office – his role includes formatting cv’s, updating and managing our database, keeping on top of all things admin, interview bookings and making the best cuppa in the office! At the end of his apprenticeship, he will have a qualification in Level 2 Business Administration.

Here are the questions we asked Tom:

Q: What are the highlights in your role?

Tom: I enjoy having the freedom within my role as business administrator. I have diverse responsibilities; so no two days tend to be the same! I enjoy having tasks to complete and targets to meet. The environment I work within has helped with my confidence and I enjoy learning on the job and helping the rest of the team.

Q: What are the challenges in your role?

Tom: As this is my first full time job, I initially found it was challenging to adapt to a proper working life environment as I didn’t know what to expect, but I have learnt so much and working at Right Time Recruitment has been a great starting point.

Q: What skills have you gained since working at RTR?

Tom: I have improved massively on my communication skills and my confidence is ever-growing. Working in a proper role has also helped with my punctuality and professionalism.

Q: What are you goals after successfully completing your apprenticeship?

Tom: After my apprenticeship, I hope to continue my journey here at Right Time – It would be great to learn even more skills.

Q: What’s it like working for James White?

Tom: I really enjoy working for James – he’s a great boss who knows my abilities and sets me realistic targets to achieve. It’s an exciting time to be at RTR and I’m looking forward to growing with the company.

We feel that it’s a great asset to have an apprentice within our team. We are able to train the candidate up to the standard we are looking for, provide relevant training and courses, invest in the individual and it’s a chance to see a different point of view from a young, driven person.

We are very lucky to have Tom with us on board, and we look forward to seeing his growth within the company!
